Article in week 1

Why do we choose this group name?
This was our first time to see each other. We had no idea when thinking of our group name initially. To make things more interesting, I suggested using the initials of our nickname to form a group name. At first, we had three members, where our initials are 「C」, 「W」 and 「B」 respectively. The word I could only link it with was Causeway Bay. It sounds good but is not smart enough to show our potential and power, I think. Another group mate suggested 「elite」 to be our group name. I think it is short and consistent with our common goal. So, we chose this name which will follow us in the following lessons.

Group goals in relation to work and life
After study this course, we expect that we have better world vision. And we learn how to balance tradeoff in global situation, deal with intercultural disputes and manage risk while running business.

The topics that excite our group most
Within the weekly course schedule, we have chosen 5 topics what excites our group most. They are crisis management, corporate social responsibility, sustainability and green management, intercultural communication and conflict resolution, and managing risk and uncertainty.

Other topics we'd like to learn in this class
Apart from the scheduled topics we will learn from this course, our group is also interested in other issues not covered in this class yet. For example, we would like to know more about different business practices in different countries since perhaps there are some differences between western and eastern countries. If we have learnt the differences, some kinds of misubderstanding or problems may be avoided.
Moreover, working with various people from all over the world may cause some conflicts like discrimination. Thus, we would like to learn how to tackle this situation as we encounter such a problem.

Myth of Globalization
Globalization is an increasing trend in the future which facilitated by rapid growth in communication, transportation and trading channels nowadays?
